Finally, after over 6 months of gathering digital dust, I thought it might be a reasonable idea to get up to speed with WordPress’ site creation wizard and add something to my blog!
Just over a year or so ago, a group of five friends and I decided to start a new 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign. A couple of us had experience playing previous editions but the majority of the group hadn’t played any form of tabletop role-playing games before.
Our Dungeon Master invested in the guide books and dungeon tiles while I took it upon myself to invest in the miniatures. Despite imagination being a key feature of tabletop RPGs, the thought of using paper cut-outs or supermarket Ooshies as our tabletop avatars just didn’t sit well with me. If we were going to D&D, then it would have to be done properly! Even though my intention was to jump in with both feet… I underestimated the depth of the waters…
Over the coming days and weeks (to be brutally honest/realistic, whenever I find the time) I’ll post some of the painted miniatures that I’d completed with a description of the creative process and discoveries along the way.
As it stands, I’ve hurriedly added my latest miniature, an Aasimar Wizard, to my miniatures gallery that can be found here:
